Job summary

G2 Legal, a leading international intellectual property firm, seeks an Electronics & Technology Technical Specialist to join its UK team. The role focuses on the technical side of IP, working closely with patent attorneys and clients on electronics and emerging technology matters.

You'll apply your technical knowledge to analyse and communicate complex technologies, with opportunities for graduates and technically experienced professionals to develop a career in a specialist IP environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related STEM.
• Strong technical understanding of electronics and high-tech technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Open to recent graduates or candidates with IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Analysing and understanding complex electronics and technology concepts
• Supporting patent attorneys with technical aspects of patent applications and prosecution
• Reviewing technical documentation, specifications and inventions
• Conducting technical research across emerging technology areas
• Working alongside patent attorneys to assess and communicate technical concepts
• Assisting with the preparation and development of technical patent material
• Developing an in-depth understanding of clients' technologies and innovations
• Keeping up to date with developments across electronics, engineering and emerging technologies
• Communicating complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
