Job summary

G2 Legal is seeking an Electronics & Technology Technical Specialist for its UK team. The role centers on technical IP work rather than traditional legal practice, with emphasis on electronics and emerging technologies.

Ideal candidates are graduates with strong electronics or technology backgrounds, able to analyse complex concepts and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Prior IP experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electronics, EE, Computer Engineering or Physics
• Strong technical understanding of electronics/high-tech tech
• Interest in innovation, emerging tech and IP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts
• Attention to detail with technical docs
• IP experience beneficial but not essential
• Open to graduates and experienced tech/IP candidates

Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand complex electronics and tech concepts
• Support patent attorneys with technical aspects of applications and prosecution
• Review technical docs, specs and inventions
• Conduct technical research across emerging technology areas
• Collaborate with patent attorneys to explain technical concepts
• Assist in preparing and developing technical patent material
• Develop understanding of clients’ technologies and innovations
• Keep up to date with developments in electronics, engineering and tech
• Communicate complex info clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
