Job summary

Neupulse is seeking an Electronics Technician to support the development and testing of its wearable neurostimulation device in a hands-on lab environment in Basingstoke, UK. The role focuses on keeping the electronics lab safe, assembling prototypes, and performing routine checks and tests.

You will build and test prototype electronics, prepare fixtures, and maintain accurate documentation while adhering to quality standards for medical device development.

Qualifications

• Holder of HNC/HND or equivalent in electronics or related field.
• Hands-on electronics skills including soldering and PCB rework.
• Experience with standard lab equipment: multimeters, scopes, bench power supplies.
• Experience preparing test setups and prototype assemblies.
• Systematic fault-finding and thorough documentation.
• Experience managing electronics lab equipment and calibration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronics lab safety, keep equipment organized and ready to use.

Behind every reliable product is a well-run lab, carefully built hardware and accurate testing. As Neupulse prepares to bring its wearable neurostimulation device to more people, we’re looking for an Electronics Technician to provide the practical support that keeps our development work moving.

You’ll suit this role if you enjoy working at the bench and take pride in doing things properly. Whether you’re assembling a prototype, preparing test equipment, investigating a returned device or keeping the lab organised, your attention to detail will help us build technology people can depend on.

You’ll

• Keep our electronics laboratory safe, organised and ready to use - maintaining equipment, tools, components and workspaces
• Carry out routine equipment checks, preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting, including supporting calibration and PAT testing activities
• Build and rework prototype electronics for verification and validation, including soldering, PCB rework, wiring and assembly
• Prepare test setups, fixtures and jigs, and carry out defined engineering tests using equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies and electronic loads
• Disassemble, inspect and test returned devices, recording what you find and helping engineers investigate faults and identify root causes
• Maintain accurate, traceable records covering equipment, calibration, maintenance, test results and technical observations
• Work in line with our quality management system and the requirements that come with developing and manufacturing a medical device

You’ll likely bring

• An HNC, HND, technical diploma, apprenticeship or equivalent practical qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, engineering technology or a related field
• Hands‑on electronics skills, including soldering, PCB rework, wiring, assembly and inspection
• Confidence using standard electronics laboratory equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes and bench power supplies
• Experience preparing test setups, fixtures, jigs or prototype assemblies in an electronics development or engineering environment
• A systematic, methodical approach to fault‑finding and technical problem‑solving
• Good documentation habits and the attention to detail needed to produce accurate equipment, maintenance and test records
• Experience supporting or helping to manage an electronics laboratory, including equipment calibration and preventative maintenance

Experience working within ISO 13485 or another regulated quality management system would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
