Job summary

SVC Technical is seeking an Electronics Stores & Inventory Assistant in Wymondham. The role involves receiving and inspecting electronic components, building component kits for production, and maintaining precise stock records for smooth dispatch.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload and record incoming deliveries.
  • Check components against purchase orders, specs and documents.
  • Inspect components for correct part numbers, polarity and condition.
  • Identify and quarantine damaged or counterfeit components.
  • Book stock onto the inventory management system.
  • Store components following ESD-safe procedures.
  • Assemble and pack component kits from BOMs and pick lists.
  • Prepare kits for production and issue to manufacturing.
  • Package components for dispatch and prepare shipping paperwork.

Electronics Stores & Inventory Assistant

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum
Location: Wymondham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced Electronics Stores & Inventory Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of a busy technical stores department. The role will involve receiving and inspecting electronic components, preparing component kits for production, maintaining accurate stock records and packaging completed orders for dispatch.

Previous experience handling and identifying electronic components is essential for this position.

Duties
  • Receive, unload and record incoming deliveries.
  • Check electronic components against purchase orders, specifications and delivery documentation.
  • Inspect components for correct part numbers, pin counts, polarity, packaging and condition.
  • Identify and quarantine damaged, incorrect, non-conforming or potentially counterfeit components.
  • Book stock accurately onto the inventory management system.
  • Store components correctly, following ESD-safe handling and storage procedures.
  • Pick and prepare bespoke component kits using Bills of Materials and technical pick lists.
  • Check that all component types and quantities are correct before issuing kits to production.
  • Handle sensitive electronic components using appropriate ESD precautions.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or reorder requirements.
  • Carry out regular cycle counts and stock checks.
  • Investigate and report stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of batch codes, returns, stock movements, reel quantities and cut-tape remnants.
  • Package electronic components and completed assemblies securely for dispatch.
  • Prepare shipping labels, dispatch paperwork and courier documentation.
  • Coordinate courier collections and ensure orders are dispatched on time.
  • Provide occasional support with light production, administration or dispatch duties during busy periods.
Requirements

  • Good knowledge of electronic components
  • Ability to accurately identify small components and understand electronic part numbers.
  • Experience working from Bills of Materials and technical pick lists.
  • Experience using ERP, inventory management or stock-control systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good organisational and stock-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and general office systems.
  • A practical, flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to complete manual handling, lifting and general stores duties
