ALTEN in Loughborough is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to design and develop PCB layouts using Altium Designer and support the full product development lifecycle from concept to release.

The role targets candidates with 2–4 years of electronics design experience, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent military experience), and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions for the clean energy and advanced

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of electronics design or PCB development experience
• Experience producing technical documentation and engineering drawings
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience
• Experience supporting products through design, development, and validation activities
• Experience designing PCBs using Altium Designer
• DFM/DFA knowledge and PCB layout principles

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCB layouts using Altium Designer
• Support the delivery of new PCB designs through the full product development lifecycle
• Create and maintain schematic designs, PCB layouts, and associated engineering documentation
• Perform design reviews and support PCB design validation activities
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure successful product integration
• Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging activities
• Manage engineering changes and maintain accurate design records
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the electronics development process
