Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer for our Loughborough team to design and develop electronic hardware solutions, from concept through release, in a multidisciplinary setting. You will create PCB layouts, schematics, and documentation using Altium Designer, ensuring designs are manufacturable and robust.

The role involves collaboration with mechanical, manufacturing and test teams, supporting prototype builds, design reviews, and engineering changes.

Qualifications

• Design and develop PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Create and maintain schematic designs, PCB layouts, and associated engineering documentation.
• Experience producing technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of DFMs/DFAs and EMI/EMC considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Support the delivery of new PCB designs through the full product development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain schematic designs, PCB layouts, and associated engineering documentation.
• Perform design reviews and support PCB design validation activities.
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure successful product integration.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging activities.
• Manage engineering changes and maintain accurate design records.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the electronics development process.
