Job summary

Graphcore Bristol is seeking a Lab Technician to keep electronics laboratories operational, safe, and ready for engineering work. You will support facilities, equipment, procedures, and practical setups that enable hardware teams to move quickly.

You will help maintain test benches, configure equipment, perform cable work, and contribute to safe working practices while developing standard operating procedures for consistent lab operations.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an electronics lab environment.
• Strong understanding of electronic test equipment, including setup, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of ESD prevention, health and safety, and safe laboratory working practices.
• Experience repairing and modifying PCB assemblies to IPC-7711/21 and J-STD-001 standards.
• Experience with cable and wire harness assemblies to drawings and IPC-620 standards, plus IPC-A-610 inspection.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic approach with clear communication and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Keep Graphcore’s Bristol electronics laboratories operational, safe and ready for engineering work.
• Support facilities, equipment, procedures and practical setups enabling hardware teams to move quickly.
• Maintain test benches, equipment configuration and safe working practices; develop SOPs for consistent lab operations.
• Contribute to lab readiness and mentor junior team members to enhance technical capability.
