Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team in Enstone is offering an Electronics Integration Student Placement to support the mechanical installation design of electronic systems in the F1 car. You will work with electronic designers and other engineering groups to ensure proper integration on the vehicle.

Duration is 1 year, starting July 2027, onsite at Enstone. The role offers a competitive salary and access to facilities as part of a high-performance environment in Formula One.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree and seeking an industry placement in penultimate year.
• Strong understanding of first principles of engineering.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (3DX preferred).
• Motivation for motorsport and hands-on, proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the mechanical installation design of electronic systems across the car.
• Support the wiring harness installation design and integration.
• Help maintain documentation of electronic systems and components.
• Collaborate with electronic designers, production and trackside teams for robust integration.

As an Electronics Integration Student Placement, you’ll be part of a team that designs the mechanical installation of complex electrical systems.

The Role

During your placement, you’ll support the design of the mechanical installation of electronic systems across the car. You’ll work closely with electronic designers and other design groups across the Engineering Office to ensure that all systems are correctly integrated within the F1 car.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the mechanical integration of electronic components
• Support the design of wiring harness installation
• Help maintain documentation of electronic systems
• Collaborate with other design groups, electronics production and trackside teams to ensure robust and reliable mechanical integration

Who We’re Looking For

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical Engineering with strong understanding of first principles of Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
• Good experience using 3D CAD software (3DX is preferable) to design mechanical components
• First experience in a race team/motorsport environment during an internship or Formula Student
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, hands‑on mindset
• You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September
