Job summary

Alpine Racing is offering an Electronics Design Student Placement in Enstone for 1 year starting July 2027. You will work with electronics engineers on electrical systems, including schematic design, PCB layout, and harness work, with a focus on reliability and F1 compliance.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Electrical/Electronic Engineering in their penultimate year and have hands-on ECAD experience. Onsite assessment in September is required; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering in penultimate year.
• Strong understanding of electronics design principles and circuit theory.
• Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics or Zuken.
• Familiar with PCB design, wiring harnesses and embedded systems.

About Us

We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Electronics Design group is responsible for developing and integrating the electrical systems that power and control our race car. From sensors and wiring to control units and data acquisition, electronics are at the heart of performance and reliability.

As an Electronics Design Student Placement, you'll be part of a team that delivers cutting-edge solutions to meet the demands of Formula One racing.

The Role

During your placement, you'll support the design and development of electrical systems and components across on-car, wind tunnel, pit-stop and other factory test equipment projects. You'll work closely with experienced electronics engineers, contributing to schematic design, PCB layout, harness design, and documentation processes that ensure performance reliability, and compliance with F1 regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of electronic components and systems

• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and vehicle performance teams to ensure seamless system integration

Who We're Looking For

• Currently studying a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
• Strong understanding of electronics design principles and circuit theory
• Experience with ECAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Zuken)
• Familiarity with PCB design, wiring harnesses, and embedded systems
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
• Opportunities to contribute to the development of race-critical electrical systems

You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role. Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September.
