Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking an Electronics Hardware Engineer for a specialist engineering organisation developing advanced electronic systems for highly technical applications. You will join a small, capable team driving hardware across the full lifecycle from requirements through production and ongoing support.

You will translate system requirements into fully functioning designs, covering analogue and digital hardware, PCB layouts, firmware development, and production support.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering or similar (2:1 or above).
• Demonstrable experience in electronic hardware design.
• Strong understanding of analogue and digital systems.
• Hands-on testing and fault finding experience.
• Strong communication skills and team work.
• Self-motivated with proactive learning.
• Experience with Intel Quartus or similar toolchains.
• Embedded software development (C/C++).
• PCB design using Altium Designer.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, Ethernet.
• Experience taking designs to production (DFT, testing, validation).

Responsibilities

• Schematic capture and design of analogue and digital hardware.
• Design and layout of multi-layer PCBs.
• Testing, fault finding and debugging of electronic hardware.
• Development of firmware and support of FPGA design.
• Supporting the full product lifecycle including design, development and production.
• Development of test processes and equipment.
• Investigation and resolution of technical issues.
• Creation of design and technical documentation.
• Supporting through-life product maintenance and obsolescence management.
