Job summary

RTX's Plymouth site, a recognised centre for navigation and control systems, is seeking an Electronics Engineer with strong analogue and digital design and failure analysis experience in aerospace/defence. The role sits within Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd and focuses on supporting production, investigating faults, and driving improvements across inertial and navigation products.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent with relevant experience
Experience in low-level analogue/digital electronics design in regulated environments
Experience with product assembly methods and test processes
Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques
Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
Good report writing and presentation skills

Responsibilities

Conduct root cause investigations into production issues and customer returns and implement corrective actions
Provide input on design, performance, and test system integration during reviews
Maintain product quality and drive continuous improvement across production lines
Offer specialist engineering expertise and lead failure analyses for product improvements
Support production, design, and supply chain teams to deliver inertial/navigation systems
Investigate technical issues and perform data analysis using tools like Matlab
