Job summary

ECM Selection in Cambourne, UK is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to design, develop and deliver MedTech instruments.

You will use Altium Designer for ECAD, prototyping hardware, and a range of test instruments in well-equipped workshops.

The role requires ISO13485 experience, FPGA or Python for test automation is desirable, and occasional travel.

You will communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences within a collaborative, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Electronics hardware design experience with prototyping, ECAD, test and manufacturing.
• Experience with medical device regulations (ISO13485).

• Exposure to optics, embedded software or signal processing advantageous.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (US/Europe).

Job description

This award-winning engineering company develop electromechanical instruments for the MedTech sector. These products are typically sophisticated medium-volume instruments that perform a specialised clinical or diagnostic function. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Electronics Engineer who will help deliver their next medical device instruments.

From well-furbished buildings, you will have at hand the latest tools and support to design, develop and deliver projects. You’ll have access to Altium Designer for ECAD and a range of test instruments. Workshops are kitted out with hardware prototyping capabilities, so you can look to optimise your designs.

Requirements:

• Having graduated with a 1st / 2.1 in electronics, you can demonstrate significant industry experience in electronic hardware design including prototyping, ECAD, test and manufacturing.
• Project experience with medical device regulations (ISO13485). Other highly-regulated industry experience may be considered.
• Experience with FPGAs or Python for test automation would be desirable.
• Exposure to optics, embedded software or signal processing would be advantageous.
• Good communications skills and ability to speak with technical and non-technical audiences. Past experience working in a technical consultancy environment would be highly beneficial.
• Must be able to undertake occasional national and international business travel (typically US and Europe).
