Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our diving and hyperbaric technology team in Westhill, with hybrid working and a full-time permanent contract. You will design, develop, test and support electronic systems across the full product lifecycle, performing design calculations, PCB work, and documentation, with site visits to other offices as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Proven electronics engineering experience
• Strong electronics design skills and calculations/simulations
• Experience designing embedded system circuits (STM32 or similar)
• Knowledge of EMC-compliant design
• Proficient in schematic capture and PCB design (Altium/KiCAD)
• Experience producing manufacturing documentation (Gerber, BOMs) and using PLM
• Understanding of IPC electronics standards; LR/DNV experience advantageous

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering input to new products and support existing range
• Source components and create part numbers and BOMs
• Create specs, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification reports
• Adhere to engineering standards and processes
• Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as required
