ABER Instruments Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electronics Development Engineer to join our Aberystwyth R&D team. The role focuses on hardware design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and validation of prototype instruments for production readiness.

You will work closely with software, process engineering, and external suppliers to ensure robust design and quality. The position is onsite in Aberystwyth with a strong benefits package and employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• PCB schematic and layout design from concept to production.
• Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers and industrial protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).

Responsibilities

• Hardware design and engineering for electronic assemblies.
• Prototype build, test, and debug of instruments.
• Design for testability and manufacturing transfer (DFM/ DFA).
• Collaborate with software to automate calibration and testing.
• Ensure ISO 9001/14001 compliant processes.
