Job Opportunity: Electronics Design Engineer / Production Support Engineer

Contract: Inside IR35, paying up to £65 per hour (Umbrella before deductions)

Certain Advantage is recruiting on behalf of a world-leading defence client for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer / Production Support Engineer to support the role of Test Design Support Engineer at their Lancashire site.

Ideal Candidate:

Candidates with a background in designing products/systems and supporting designs through manufacturing are preferred. Experience with RF and Test Systems is advantageous.

Overview:

This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Electronic Design Engineers to support production activities at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, witnessing designs come to life in the production environment.

The Role:

You will serve as the interface between design and manufacturing teams, collaborating with support engineers to provide technical knowledge and support. The focus is on advanced missile modules and subsystems, with opportunities to work on launcher assemblies and other projects.

Requirements:

1. Degree qualification (or equivalent industry experience) with experience in designing products/systems or supporting designs through manufacturing.
2. Proven experience in the design of one or more disciplines, such as:
   • Digital and Analogue Electronics
   • Power Electronics
   • RF & Antenna
   • Interconnects
   • Safety Electronics
   • Test Systems
   • Schematic Design
   • PCB Design
   • Adherence to BS EN Standards
3. Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to produce clear engineering documentation.
4. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, with a passion for innovation and collaboration.
5. Ability to work independently, lead tasks, and engage stakeholders effectively.
6. Experience in managing work packages, controlling costs, and delivering solutions. Support to manufacturing and resolving manufacturing issues is a plus.
7. Strong investigative skills to identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
8. A record of delivering projects on time, with good communication skills.
