Advice may range from portfolio management to freedom-to-operate, invention mining and obtaining commercially valuable patent protection, as well as drafting and prosecuting applications in Europe, the UK and worldwide. There is also plenty of scope for contentious work including post-grant enforcement against competitors and defending granted patents against invalidity actions. For those with a real penchant for litigation, you can represent clients in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, as well as providing litigation support for proceedings before the UK High Court, the UK Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC), regional courts in Europe and the UK IPO.
