Job summary

Quartzelec Limited is seeking an Electronics Assembly Team Leader to guide the assembly of condition monitoring equipment in Rugby. You will lead the team, plan workloads, and ensure on-time delivery with high quality, safety, and efficiency.

The role requires strong electronics knowledge, hands-on capability, and good IT/ software skills. You will coordinate with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain and support SOP compliance and KPI delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment with supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong electronics knowledge and hands-on technical capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the assembly team, ensuring a strong safety-first culture across all activities
  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly workloads to align with operational priorities
  • Ensure delivery of assembly activities on time, to budget, and to required quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Maintain and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide technical support, training, and development to team members
  • Interface with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure effective delivery planning
  • Oversee quality control, including non-conformance management and root cause analysis
  • Manage stock control, Kanban System, materials availability, and workshop readiness
  • Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and product records are maintained
  • Support across assembly, testing, fault finding and repair activities where required
  • Support the installation, configuration and basic troubleshooting of software used with condition monitoring systems
  • Liaise with the Quartzteq R&D team to support updates to technical documentation and provide feedback and suggestions for product improvement
  • Monitor team performance and drive accountability against KPIs

Job description

Job Title: Electronics Assembly Team leader

Location: Rugby

The role

Responsible for leading, coordinating and supporting the assembly and manufacture of condition monitoring equipment, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery through effective team leadership, resource planning, and continuous improvement.

Supports operational performance, cost control and delivery commitments.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong background in electronics, together with good IT/Software skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the assembly team, ensuring a strong safety-first culture across all activities
  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly workloads to align with operational priorities
  • Ensure delivery of assembly activities on time, to budget, and to required quality standards

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, with supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong electronics knowledge and hands-on technical capability
  • Good IT / software skills
  • Ability to lead teams, plan workloads, and manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • HNC / City & Guilds or equivalent in Electro-mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • 3-5 years’ experience within a similar industry
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across functions
