About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our growing Asset Engineering team, supporting facilities and technical assets across our Wilton site, with occasional support to our facilities in Sedgefield and Darlington.

This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys fault finding, solving technical problems and working across a wide variety of electrical and instrumentation systems. You'll be responsible for maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment that supports cutting-edge research, development and manufacturing activities.

We're not looking for someone with experience in a specific industry. Instead, we're interested in candidates with strong electrical and instrumentation fundamentals, good fault-finding capability and a willingness to learn. Our team works with a diverse range of specialist equipment, and there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your technical expertise.

The role is predominantly based at Wilton but will require travelling to other sides so a full driving licence would be advantageous.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities across electrical and instrumentation assets.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs to minimise downtime and maintain operational reliability.
  • Performing calibration activities on a broad range of instruments, including:
  • Pressure instrumentation
  • Temperature instrumentation
  • Level instrumentation
  • Process probes and sensors
  • Supporting the installation, commissioning and modification of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Assisting with new facility and infrastructure projects, including electrical installations and upgrades.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance and calibration records within the CMMS system.
  • Supporting equipment validation, testing and performance checks to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Working closely with maintenance, engineering and operational teams to deliver safe and reliable facility performance.
About You

We're looking for someone with practical electrical and instrumentation experience who enjoys being hands-on and solving technical problems.

You will likely have
  • Relevant technical qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 and Siemens PCS7).
  • Experience in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance within a process, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, and plant modifications.

Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial, although not essential:

  • CompEx certification and experience in electrical inspection and testing of industrial installations.
  • PAT testing.
  • Process control systems.
  • Industrial utilities and process plant equipment.
  • Electrical inspection and testing.
Why Join Us?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding E&I team supporting a broad range of state-of-the-art facilities and technologies. You'll gain exposure to specialist equipment, varied engineering challenges and major facility development projects, while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians in a collaborative environment.

If you're an experienced fault-finder who enjoys practical problem-solving and wants to broaden your expertise across electrical and instrumentation systems, we'd love to hear from you.
