Senior Hardware Engineer – Innovative Product Development

We are partnering with a leading research and development company that specialises in industrial hardware and software solutions for the entertainment industry. Their award-winning products are used worldwide in blockbuster films, large-scale concerts, theme parks, and architectural lighting.

They are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join their forward-thinking development team, working on high-performance processors, FPGAs, and intricate multi-layer PCBs. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge product design in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the end-to-end development of electronic products, from initial concept and schematic design to PCB layout, prototyping, and production.
• Collaborate with external manufacturers to develop prototypes and refine production processes.
• Work closely with embedded firmware and FPGA engineers to support design and debugging.
• Diagnose technical issues in manufacturing or support, identifying root causes and implementing design improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4-5 years of industry experience in electronics engineering, contributing to successfully released products.
• Expertise in schematic design, using software like OrCAD.
• Proficiency in PCB layout (6+ layers) involving high-complexity components, such as BGAs.
• Experience working with processor and FPGA-based systems.
• Strong hands-on skills, including assembling, testing, and reworking small components (0402) and large MCUs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
• Proven experience in leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• A degree in Electronics Engineering (2:1 or above) or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with EMC measurement, mitigation strategies, and debugging techniques.
• Track record of taking multiple products from concept to high-volume manufacturing, including design for manufacture and design for test considerations.
