Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer for Swansea to work at the forefront of electronic design and contribute to a busy new‑product pipeline that brings high‑performance devices to market.

You will join an innovation‑driven team in a regulated environment, solving complex technical challenges and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve manufacturability and BOM cost while expanding product capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Background within regulated sectors such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or similar environments desirable.
• Modern PSU design, high power RF generation, power factor correction, embedded microcontrollers and wired communications.
• EMC compliance, fault-tolerant product design, validation and verification of electronics and embedded software, and test jig development.
• Experience with UK/overseas contract manufacturers, hand soldering/rework, PCB design (Altium and Proteus), 60601 compliance documentation, and lab report writing.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering old designs and designing new iterations.
• Design and development of devices and associated technologies.
• Design and validate next generation products with focus on manufacturability and BOM cost.
• Reduce BOM cost of existing products through component choice and supply chain leverage.
• Improve manufacturability of products to reduce assembly and calibration time.
• Improve the serviceability of the product to simplify service callouts.
• Improve the reliability of the product.
