Job summary

Hunter Selection in Swansea seeks an Electronic Design Engineer to join a fast-moving, innovation-driven engineering organisation expanding its R&D capabilities. You will work at the forefront of electronic design, contributing to a busy new-product pipeline and bringing high-performance devices to market.

With a degree in Electronics and experience in regulated environments, you will design, validate and improve products, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help reduce BOM cost while

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Background within regulated sectors such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or similar environments desirable
• Modern PSU design, high power RF generation, power factor correction, embedded microcontrollers and wired communications
• EMC compliance, fault-tolerant product design, validation and verification of electronics and embedded software, and test jig development

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering old designs and designing new iterations.
• Design and development of devices and associated technologies.
• Design and validate the next generation of products with a focus on manufacturability and BOM cost.
• Reduce the BOM cost of the existing product through component choice and leveraging of supply chain.
• Improve the manufacturability of products to reduce assembly and calibration time.
• Improve the serviceability of the product to simplify service callouts
• Improve the reliability of the product

Requirements

• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Background within regulated sectors such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or similar environments desirable
• Modern PSU design, high power RF generation, power factor correction, embedded microcontrollers and wired communications
• EMC compliance, fault-tolerant product design, validation and verification of electronics and embedded software, and test jig development
• Working with UK and overseas contract manufacturers, hand soldering/rework, PCB design (Altium and Proteus), 60601 compliance documentation, and lab report writing28449/510
