Job summary

MBDA is seeking an experienced Electronic Architect to shape the architecture of our electronic products. You will lead the decomposition of requirements and manage technical elements to ensure on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery while addressing space and harsh-environment constraints.

Role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to align with customer requirements. Dynamic hybrid working is offered, with security clearance and UK citizenship prerequisites discussed during

Qualifications

• Degree level in electronics or equivalent with electronics bias.
• Significant experience in digital electronics, power electronics and safety-critical environments.
• Understanding of software/firmware development techniques and hardware interactions.
• Experience with EMC and environmental design is advantageous.
• Ability to decompose requirements and architect systems within space/operational constraints.

Responsibilities

• Define electronic and electrical architecture of equipment.
• Perform analysis and decomposition to lower-level requirements.
• Ensure customer requirements meet constraints of space and harsh environments.
• Collaborate with Engineering Project Manager to manage technical elements and on-time delivery.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Electronic Architect to join MBDA and contribute to the development of our world-class, precision product range. • The opportunity: Your role will involve defining the electronic and electrical architecture of the equipment, conducting analysis and decomposition to lower-level requirements for sub-elements, and ensuring that challenging customer requirements are met within the constraints of limited physical space and harsh operating environments. Working closely with the Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all technical elements of Electronic Equipment's to ensure impeccable 'On Time, On Cost, On Quality' delivery of the technical solution.
  Effective communication skills are vital as you will frequently engage with both stakeholders and customers. It is also important to possess strong influencing skills, leadership qualities, and a comprehensive understanding of customers' requirements. Having drive, proactivity, and the ability to make decisions and adjust in a constantly evolving and ambitious setting are essential for excelling in this position., Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent) with an Electronics bias and significant experience in the following areas:
• Digital electronics and microprocessor systems
• Power electronics for distributed power networks
• Design of equipment for safety critical environments
• Design of equipment for handling sensitive customer data
• Understanding of software and firmware development techniques
• Compact packaging and thermal management techniques for complex high-performance electronic equipment
• Knowledge of internal computing design covering System on Chip technologies, RF, Signal Processing, and Software Defined Radio would be beneficial
• As would, experience in EMC and Environmental design.
