Job summary

Cubiq Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer in Dover, UK. The role covers concept development through to manufacturing release, with emphasis on electromechanical assemblies and enclosures using plastics, sheet metal and machined parts.

You will own mechanical design activities, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, quality and manufacturability targets, while collaborating with electronics and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in mechanical design.
• Experience taking mechanical designs from concept through to manufacture.
• Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks; familiarity with other CAD packages a plus.
• Understanding of DFMA and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with plastics, sheet metal and machined components.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design from concept to production release.
• Developing 3D CAD models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Creating and maintaining BOMs.
• Designing electromechanical assemblies and product enclosures.
• Applying DFMA principles throughout development.
• Supporting production following product release.
• Transferring new products into manufacturing site.
• Contributing to continuous improvement and PLM implementation.
