Job summary

Metrea seeks a seasoned ML/Data Scientist to join the Decision Science Laboratory in a hybrid UK role. You will apply ML, data science, and advanced analytical techniques to complex electromagnetic challenges, designing and deploying ML-enabled capabilities for real-world deployment.

You will collaborate across decision science, electromagnetic simulation, and engineering, mentor juniors, and help build scalable MLOps workflows while communicating complex results to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Physics, Engineering, CS, Statistics, or related STEM.
• Familiarity with CNNs, Transformers, autoencoders, self-supervised learning, probabilistic modelling.
• Strong programming in Python with scientific computing and ML libraries.
• Experience applying data science/ML to electromagnetic or related operational problem sets.

Responsibilities

• Translate operational requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Apply ML, data science, and RF-aware analytics to EM problem sets.
• Explore modern approaches for EM sensing and exploitation (CNNs, Transformers, graph methods).
• Design and conduct experiments to assess new algorithms.
• Develop proof-of-concept capabilities and support deployment into operations.
• Liaise with forward-deployed teammates to understand constraints and data limits.
• Build reliable analytical workflows with MLOps and cloud practices; version control, testing, monitoring.
