Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in Cheltenham to join a multi-skilled engineering team. You will build and test bespoke machinery, wiring control panels, and commission equipment both in the workshop and on customer sites across the UK.

The role emphasizes electrical expertise with practical machine assembly, fault-finding and ongoing support, with occasional overseas travel. Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30, with early finish on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in machinery build, automation, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical control systems.
• Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Basic mechanical assembly experience.
• Good IT skills for service reports and documentation.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel UK and occasionally overseas.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and operator consoles.
• Wire machinery from schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Install motors, drives, sensors, relays and control equipment.
• Ensure electrical work is safe and high quality.
• Support mechanical assembly and final build of machinery.
• Work from drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform electrical testing, fault-finding and calibration.
• Diagnose faults and resolve issues during build.
• Commission machinery in workshop prior to customer acceptance.
• Install and commission equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Provide professional technical support and build customer relationships.
