Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in Cheltenham to wire and test electrical control panels, support mechanical build and commission bespoke machinery. The role blends electrical engineering with hands-on assembly and occasional site work across the UK.

Based on the description, you will have a recognised electrical qualification with strong fault-finding skills, and you will travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas as required.

Qualifications

• Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in machinery build, automation, or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical control systems.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and operator consoles.
• Wire bespoke machinery from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Install motors, drives, sensors, relays and associated control equipment.
• Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Carry out electrical testing, fault-finding and machine calibration.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and electro-mechanical faults throughout the build process.
• Commission machinery within the workshop prior to customer acceptance.
• Install and commission equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Provide professional technical support while building strong customer relationships.
