We’ve recently doubled our HV test capacity to 2 MW, installed brand-new generators, and introduced simultaneous motor testing – making Falkirk one of the most advanced high-voltage facilities in the UK.
As an Electro Mechanical Technician, you will:
Diagnose, dismantle, inspect, and repair various rotating equipment, including high and low voltage AC motors and generators
Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, and assembly of rotating machinery and components.
Conduct electrical testing, fault-finding, and rewinding of motors and generators.
Collaborate with engineers and fellow technicians to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
What You Bring:
Recognized Electrical/Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or qualification.
Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with experience in the repair and maintenance of motors, pumps, and other rotating machinery.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Proficiency in fault-finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
