Job summary

Evoke Staffing Ltd in Cheltenham seeks an Electro-Mechanical Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for electrical assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning on bespoke precision machinery.

The role is hands-on, with travel to UK customer sites about every month and occasional overseas travel. Requires electrical qualification and strong fault-finding ability plus practical mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• Essential electrical engineering qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent).
• Experience in machinery build, automation or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical control systems.
• Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Basic mechanical assembly experience.
• Good IT skills for service reports & documentation.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel UK-wide and overseas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and operator consoles.
• Wire bespoke machinery using schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Install motors, drives, sensors, relays, switches and control equipment.
• Ensure electrical work meets safety and quality standards.
• Support mechanical assembly and final build of machinery.
• Interpret drawings and technical documentation.
• Carry out electrical testing, fault-finding and calibration.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and electro-mechanical faults during build.
• Test and commission machinery in the workshop before customer acceptance.
• Install and commission equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Provide technical support and maintain customer relationships.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
