Job summary

Lucy Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop sheet metal enclosures and structural components for LV power distribution systems. You will produce detailed CAD models and BOMs, supporting prototype builds and product validation in an ISO 9001 environment.

You will work closely with Production, Quality, Procurement and Technical Sales to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness and compliance across the full product lifecycle,

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering (preferably electrical).
• Proven work experience as an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet metal enclosures, structural components, and integrated electro-mechanical assemblies for LV power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings, including tolerancing, to support manufacturing and assembly.
• Create, maintain, and control BOMs, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
• Support prototype builds, product testing, and validation activities, including troubleshooting and design iterations.
• Generate manufacturing documentation, including assembly instructions and fabrication details.
• Ensure all design activities comply with ISO 9001 standards and relevant electrical and safety regulations.
• Provide ongoing technical support to manufacturing teams, resolving design queries and improving manufacturability.
