Job Introduction
We are recruiting a Grade 6 Network Planner to join our Northampton/Milton Keynes depot. Planners design our network and collaborate with Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter, and replace equipment. The role is fast-paced, requiring you to provide excellent service and minimize impact on customers.
Applicants should have at least English and Maths GCSE Grade C/Level 4, or Functional Skills Level 2 or above. A Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 or equivalent qualification is required, with evidence of qualifications needed. If not already attained, Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 must be completed.

Ideal candidates may already have experience as a Grade 5 Network Planner, understanding procedures, standards, and customer needs. Alternatively, candidates with an electrical background and relevant qualifications, such as internal electrical planning experience, are encouraged to apply. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating jobs and explaining issues clearly. As the role involves diary control, resilience, organization, and workload prioritization are important. Team players with a proactive, consultative approach thrive here. Experience with iPads, computers, and relevant software is required. Mobility around the area may be necessary for standby duties.
National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues, and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, with screening levels depending on the role. Some roles require triannual checks.
