Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an experienced Street Light Operative for an immediate start on a street lighting maintenance and installation contract in Sittingbourne, Kent.

You will work on column removal and erection, install and maintain street furniture, and coordinate with traffic management. A valid HERS/ECS card and NRSWA are required, with G39 and safety certifications preferred. A full UK driving licence is preferred, and eligibility to work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in street lighting maintenance and installation.
• HERS Card / ECS Card required.
• NRSWA accreditation.
• G39 Certificate (Working safely near electricity supply networks preferred).
• Safety Critical Medical certification.
• First Aid and Manual handling training completed.

Responsibilities

• Street lighting column removal and erection.

Job Title: Electrician - Street Lighting

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Duration: Ongoing (temporary contract)

Pay Rate: £140 - £180 per day (dependent on qualifications and pay type; PAYE, Umbrella PAYE or CIS)

About the Role

Requirements

• HERS Card / ECS Card (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme essential)

• Slinger / Signaller qualification preferrable

• NRSWA

• G39 Certificate (Working safely near electricity supply networks preferred).

• Safety Critical Medical certification

• First Aid training
• Manual handling training

• Full UK Driving Licence (C1 / HGV Category C is a plus).

• Full PPE (Steel toe boots, high-vis jacket/trousers, hard hat, and gloves).

• Right to work in the UK
