Job summary

The Hyde Group is looking for a Domestic Electrician to service properties in Southampton, delivering a responsive electrical service across our housing stock. You will perform rewires, remedial work, smoke-detector installations and routine repairs to ensure safe, compliant systems for residents.

You should hold the 18th Edition, a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification, and an Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391) qualification, with NICEIC standards in mind.

Qualifications

• Experience on residential properties is desirable.
• 18th Edition qualification required.
• Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification required.
• Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391) qualification required.
• Must be able to work to NICEIC standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out rewires, remedial works and smoke-detector installations.
• Test and inspect electrical installations and equipment.
• Provide day-to-day responsive repairs to residents.
• Participate in out-of-hours rota to resolve electrical issues promptly.
• Liaise with residents and internal teams to resolve property issues.

As an Electrician at Hyde you will be working within Property Services to provide a responsive and professional electrical service to residents ensuring all internal and external work sites are adequately protected and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Deliver works such as rewires, remedial works, installation of smoke detectors, test and inspections and day to day responsive repairs maintenance.
• Participate in the 'out of hour's service delivery on a rota basis to ensure electrical issues are dealt with promptly.
• Act as a liaison between residents and internal teams to ensure any property related issues are highlighted and resolved promptly.
• Exercise and promote the highest levels of duty, care and safety within all working environments in order to minimise levels of risk to The Hyde Group employees, properties and residents.
• Undertake any required repairs in order to maintain high levels of safety, security and working conditions across The Hyde Group properties (including vehicles and tools) in compliance with current policies and procedures:

Skills and Experience Required

• Have proven experience of working on residential properties, social housing is desirable
• Hold an 18th Edition qualification
• Hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• Hold an Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391) qualification
• Be able to work in accordance with NICEIC requirements.
