Electrician

Location: East London and Essex

Salary: £44,000 - £45,000 per annum + Company Van + OTE

Workflow Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Electrician to work across social housing properties in East London and Essex.

This Electrician position involves completing electrical installations, testing, fault finding, maintenance and repairs while delivering a professional service to residents. You will manage your own daily workload across multiple sites and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, appliances and associated systems.
  • Inspect and test electrical installations to identify defects, hazards and required remedial work.
  • Diagnose faults using appropriate electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Complete electrical installation, inspection, testing and continuity checks.
  • Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers and other electrical components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagrams.
  • Complete surveys, reports and job documentation accurately.
  • Plan and manage your daily workload, ensuring appointments and works are completed within allocated timescales.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Liaise professionally with residents, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Support or mentor apprentice electricians where required.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Essential Requirements
  • A recognised Level 3 electrical qualification.
  • At least three years' experience working as a qualified Electrician.
  • A minimum of one year's experience within social housing.
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • A valid ECS or CSCS card.
  • Experience in electrical installation, testing, fault finding, maintenance and repair.
  • A strong understanding of electrical health and safety requirements.
  • The ability to work independently and manage jobs across multiple sites.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to follow technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification or equivalent.
  • Current Asbestos Awareness certification.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring apprentices.
  • Good IT skills.
Additional Information

The successful Electrician should be comfortable working at height, outdoors and in confined spaces where the work requires it. Flexibility to undertake call-out duties may also be required.
