Job summary

Rydon Maintenance Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrician / Site Supervisor to join our repairs and maintenance team in Southend, Essex on an NHS FM contract. You will split time between supervising two care homes and actively maintaining tradeswork.

The role covers reactive and planned maintenance, fault-finding, minor installations, and contractor supervision. A full UK driving licence is required and generous benefits are on offer through a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of buildings, ideally NHS or contracts servicing NHS facilities.
• Electrical qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and 18th edition.
• Testing and Inspection knowledge (2391) desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee reactive maintenance and repairs, including power and lighting faults.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
• Respond to breakdowns, fault-find, and complete minor installations.
• Supervise and manage contractors on site, including inductions and spot checks.
• Participate in call-out rota with on-call standby and overtime when required.
