Job summary

CCS is seeking an experienced Electrical Installer to carry out electrical installations, such as ventilation, lighting, Solar PV systems and heating controls across housing associations and private customers.

You will work to MCS requirements, maintain safety and quality, and liaise with residents and clients. A clean UK driving license and DBS check are required; NVQ 2 in Electrical Systems and 18th Edition are essential.

Qualifications

NVQ 2 or equivalent in Electrical Systems.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
BPEC qualification or equivalent in installation of Solar PV preferred.
Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.

Responsibilities

Maintain job time frame and quality standards with safe, high quality finishes.
Deliver high quality service to clients and residents; respect all individuals.
Work in line with company procedures and MCS standards; comply with 18th Edition regs.
Carry out repairs and minor works for installation call backs or remedial work.
Attend to breakdowns and urgent calls.
Install products and materials to highest quality; follow manufacturer guidelines.
Order parts and manage own jobs for fast client resolution.
Liaise with residents and CCS clients about ongoing works.
Ensure PPE is present and correct.
Liaise with project manager to maintain QMS standards.
Ensure equipment is calibrated and in order.
Keep appointments; inform CCS tenants/clients of progress.
Carry out duties from senior management as required.
Stay up to date with codes of practice for your discipline.
Report variations and update administration on site changes.
Attend staff briefings and company functions.
Collaborate with engineers and staff to reach targets; coordinate mechanical and building works.
Produce certificates, job sheets and required reports.
Submit weekly time sheets, delivery notes and expenses.

Job Purpose

Carry out electrical installations, such as ventilation systems, lighting, Solar PV System, and heating controls in line with all company procedures and MCS requirements across a range of clients and contracts including housing association & private customers. To always act professionally and efficiently and to represent CCS in the best possible manner.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains job time frame and quality standards of the company by working efficiently and safely with a high quality finish.
To deliver a high quality service to the client and their customers, having respect for all individuals and meeting the challenges presented.
Carries out all works strictly in line with company procedures and all MCS standards within the industry: - code of practice and 18th Edition regulations.
Repairs and minor works as and when required for installation call backs or remedial works.
Breakdown attendance and response to urgent calls.
To install all products and materials to the highest quality possible and in line with all manufacturer guidelines.
To carry out ordering of parts and management of own jobs to ensure fast resolution to the client’s issue or fault.
To liaise with residents and CCS clients as and when required about the works being undertaken.
To ensure all PPE is present and always correct.
To liaise with project manager and assist with keeping the standards of the QMS and company quality manual.
Ensure all equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
To ensure all appointments are kept and all CCS tenants/clients are kept informed.
To carry out duties as required by any senior manager or member of staff representing such manager.
To stay up to date with all codes of practice involving your given discipline.
Carry out all reporting of variations to any works and updating administration department of changes to requirements on site.
Responsible for engaging and attending all staff briefings and company functions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Liaison with all other engineers and staff to ensure targets are reached, organizing mechanical works, and building works on any given installation.
Production of a certificate or job sheet for all work, any other reports or records required for the work.
Submitting a valid and accurate time sheet, delivery notes, expenses, and any other documentation weekly.

Skills/Qualifications

General competence in the given trade.
NVQ 2 or equivalent in Electrical Systems.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
BPEC qualification or equivalent in installation of Solar PV preferred.
Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.

Experience Required

Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred.
Experience of working within the Social Housing sector on installation projects and maintenance contracts
Experience of working with residents and clients directly
A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
