Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a dedicated Electrician for HMP Rochester. The role demands a fully qualified electrician with 18th edition BS7671 and Level 3 electrical qualifications, including NVQs and AM2/AM2S where applicable.

You will work in a challenging, secure environment on a full-time basis. The position offers 39 hours per week, with a competitive salary and a range of benefits, including substantial annual leave and generous non-contractual perks.

Qualifications

• Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition) and Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services.
• NVQs/competency assessments (AM2/AM2S) and relevant experience.
• At least two years' experience as a fully qualified electrician.
• Experience on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Good health and safety knowledge and practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems in a heavy, secure environment.
• Coordinate with Plumbers, Carpenters and Electricians to ensure safety and reliability.
• Contribute to planned and preventive maintenance operations.

Electrician Location : HMP Rochester - ME1 3QS Salary : £42,062.25 (including £1,000 of allowances) Contract : Full Time | Permanent | 39 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Rochester, a Category C & Male prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for an Electrician with a combination of:

• Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
• Two years’ experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
• Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills

Future Plans. GFSL has been notified by it's shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
