Electrician (Level 3)

Location: HMP Maidstone

Salary: £38,333.37 - £41,818.21

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time 39hrs

Job Overview

We are seeking a fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Maidstone, a CATEGORY C & Adult Male prison. Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday, dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment.

HMP Maidstone operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Team Environment

You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs in accordance with safety standards.
  • Assist in planned and preventive maintenance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S), e.g., 2367 or 2357.
  • At least two years' experience as a fully qualified electrician.
  • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems.
  • Good knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong health and safety awareness.
  • Excellent organizational and people skills.
