Role Description

This full-time Electrician / EV Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a mix of on-site work and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, testing, and commissioning EV charging points in domestic and commercial environments, ensuring compliance with relevant electrical and safety regulations. The role also involves diagnosing and repairing faults, performing routine maintenance, and updating or configuring charging point software. The Electrician / EV Engineer will liaise with customers, survey sites, prepare basic documentation, and coordinate with the wider team to deliver projects on time and to high quality standards. Remote work may include documentation, reporting, customer communication, and coordination with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications
  • Practical electrical skills, including EV charge point installation, fault finding, testing, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of current electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671), safety standards, and best practices for domestic and commercial installations.
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment and tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally.
  • Basic IT literacy and familiarity with EV charging software, mobile apps, and digital reporting tools.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and valid industry certifications; ECS/CSCS card is beneficial.
  • Full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel within the London Area and occasionally nationwide.
  • Ability to work safely and independently, manage workloads, and collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Previous experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or related electrical installations is an advantage.
