Job summary

Mears Group seeks skilled Electricians for our Birmingham team, focusing on EICR testing, inspections, and ensuring compliance in occupied domestic properties. You will deliver high-quality electrical testing as part of a planned programme, with detailed reports, remedial actions, and strict safety standards in resident homes.

The role is full-time and permanent, offering up to £40,000 with a company van and fuel card, plus overtime and an optional out-of-hours rota to boost earnings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (AM2 included)
• 18th Edition wiring regulations
• 2391/2394/2395 inspection and testing accreditation

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical inspections of fixed wiring, consumer units and circuits.
• Perform comprehensive electrical testing: continuity, insulation, polarity, RCD, earth fault loop impedance.
• Identify remedial actions and issue C-codes to achieve compliance.
• Carry out fault finding and safe reinstatement of circuits in residents' homes.
• Complete minor remedial repairs to close EICR actions.
• Produce accurate documentation using digital job management systems.
