Job summary

Together Housing Group is seeking an Electrician to join our Repairs & Maintenance team, covering the Calderdale area. You will perform electrical repairs in tenanted and vacant properties with a customer service quality-driven approach and a focus on Right First Time workmanship.

Role includes 4 on/4 off shifts; starting salary £43,109 with a fully equipped van and LGPS pension benefits. You will need an electrical qualification and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification to at least NVQ 3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of BS7671:2018 wiring regulations.
• Experience with electrical testing and inspection (2391/2394).
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Experience in customer-facing repairs and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs in tenanted and vacant properties as per tickets and drawings.
• Strive for Right First Time with high workmanship and standards.
• Plan and organise work to minimise wasted time and reallocate as needed.
• Participate in standby/call-out rosters and overtime when required.
• Diagnose issues and obtain approvals for more complex or costly repairs.

We are looking for a Electrician to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. As an Electrician you will provide all types of Electrical repairs, to tenanted and vacant properties, with a customer service quality driven repair and maintenance service. In this role you will be covering the Calderdale area.

Please be aware that this role is working 4 days on 4 days off- working 12 hours (Monday to Friday) and working 7.5 hours (Saturday and Sunday)

Outline of Key responsibilities of the Electrician…

• To carry out all types of Electrical repairs to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti-time appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings, to good practice, Building Regulations etc as appropriate and applicable.
• To carry out work with an ethos of “Right First Time” always completing a repair where practicable in one visit, with good quality workmanship and good standard of performance.
• To organise your work to minimise lost or non-productive time, highlighting pro-actively if you have too much / too little work so that work can be re-allocated, extra work allocated etc as appropriate.
• To assist in addressing the peaks and troughs in workload by working overtime and at other times when requested by prior arrangement with your manager. To participate in a stand-by or call-out rota.
• To use your initiative to diagnose and undertake a repair which may be different from the job required or where the job required was of a locate fault type nature. Obtaining approval beforehand as appropriate where the job is more expensive than anticipated, will take much longer than anticipated etc.
• To work to a consistently high standard of workmanship in line with service specification, service standards, safe working procedures and as part of a team to ensure the most efficient use of time, materials and resources etc.
  We are looking for someone who has…
• Electrical qualification – NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Installations or equivalent
• Knowledge of BS7671:2018 requirements for Electrical Installations
• 2391/2394 Testing & Inspection
• Full UK Manual drivers licence
• Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualifiedElectrician/ Electrical Technicianalong with other associated building disciplines as required and as appropriate
• Relevant post qualification experience
• Experience of working in a customer service environment
• Experience of maximising number of jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit.
  In return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Electrician role:
• Starting salary £43,109
• You will share a fully equipped van with another employee within the same trade, with responsibility for handing the vehicle over at the end of your four-day shift.
• This role operates on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
• Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 8:00pm (11-hour shift including a 1-hour break), Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): 9:00am – 5:00pm (7.5-hour shift including a 30-minute break).
• Annual leaveequivalent to27 days(rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidaysupplement.
