Job summary

Ivy Resource Group are currently recruiting for an Electrician for the UWE contract in Bristol, on a permanent basis.

The role involves completing planned and reactive electrical maintenance, with a focus on safety, accuracy and timely delivery. You will work standard hours with overtime opportunities, supported by a company van, fuel card, tools and uniform.

Qualifications

  • C&G Level 3 2357 or equivalent, and/or relevant apprenticeship within your trade.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a building maintenance role including planned, reactive and remedial maintenance.
  • AM2 and C&G th Edition.
  • Current Full UK Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the completion of pre-planned maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Complete reactive and remedial repairs to electrical systems as directed by the Helpdesk.
  • Plan and complete a range of works including installation and testing of electrical systems.
  • Use initiative to solve technical problems, sourcing parts and seeking technical support.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works to keep the client up to date.
  • Carry out works within timescales and compliant with regulations and contract specs.
  • Report and record procedures and maintain logs and risk controls.
  • Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise with control hub for efficient response, solo or in a team.
  • Observe health and safety; perform risk assessments for each task.
  • Provide regular out-of-hours cover on a 1 in 6 rota.

What will my core responsibilities be?
  • Responsible for the completion of pre-planned maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Completion of reactive and remedial repairs associated with the electrical systems following testing and inspections as directed by the Helpdesk.
  • Play a key role in planning and completing a range of works associated with the electrical systems, which will also include installation and testing of these systems.
  • Use initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
  • Report and record procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
  • Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise closely with our control hub to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
  • Provide regular out-of-hours cover on a rota system, typically 1 in 6.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

Essential:

  • C&G Level 3 2357 or equivalent, and/or relevant apprenticeship within your trade
  • Hold a minimum of 3+ years' experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance
  • AM2
  • C&G th Edition
  • Current Full UK Driver's License

Desirable:

  • IOSH - Working safely or CSCS Card
  • L8 Awareness
Salary:

37,000 - 40,000 per annum + Overtime rates

Working hours: 8am - 5pm
