Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking a fully qualified Electrician for HMP Erlestoke, a Category C prison. Permanent role, 39 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, focused on safe electrical maintenance within a high-security environment. Salary £41,062.25 per annum plus £1,000 per annum RRA.

Holidays 25 days + Bank Holidays, private GP, EAP and other benefits. Requires BS7671 18th edition, Level 3 Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services, NVQs/AM2/AM2S, and at least two

Qualifications

• Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S).
• Two years' experience as a fully qualified electrician.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Job Role: Electrician

Location: HMP Erlestoke, 33 Victoria Park, Devizes. SN10 5TU

Salary: £41,062.25 per annum (plus £1000 per annum RRA)

Contract: Permanent - 39hrs per week - Mon-Fri

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Erlestoke, a Category C, adult male prison.

HMP Erlestoke runs like a self-contained city, it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning, and as the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed and driving the smooth and safe operation, like a heart that pumps blood through the body, everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, and visitor, and wider to the families and community.

As an Electrician, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, other Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for an Electrician with a combination of:

• Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
• Two years' experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
• Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills

Future Plans.

GFSL has been notified by it's shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
