Job summary

Amey Group Services LTD is hiring a permanent Electrician for HMP Swansea. The role covers planned and preventative electrical maintenance within the prison, with a 39-hour week and a rota including 1 in 3 weekends (with 15% extra allowance).

You will fault-find, carry out like-for-like replacements, and perform BS7671-inspected tests, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and support a secure environment for staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
• Ability to fault find electrical systems.
• Experience with BS7671 inspection/testing and records.

Responsibilities

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
• Actively fault finding / problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
• Carry out like-for-like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
• Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively helping to create a secure and well-maintained environment for staff and residents.
• Assist the Responsible person and Authorised person when requested.
• Uphold Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work across all work streams.
