Job summary

VGC in Southampton is seeking a qualified Electrician to join the Voids and Property Maintenance team. You will cover Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury and surrounding areas, inspecting, testing and upgrading electrical installations in vacant residential properties to ensure safety and compliance for new tenants.

Role involves diverse tasks from fault finding to installations and providing documentation, with a strong emphasis on quality workmanship and customer service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent is required.
• AM2 qualification (or equivalent) is required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is required.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent) is required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Electrical inspection and testing of domestic properties.
• Fault finding, repairs and maintenance works.
• Consumer unit replacements and upgrades.
• Electrical installations and remedial works.
• Ensuring all work is completed to current regulations and safety standards.
• Producing accurate certification and documentation.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to minimise void turnaround times.

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + Company Van

Location: Southampton and surrounding areas

Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join a busy Voids and Property Maintenance team covering Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. Working across vacant residential properties, you will be responsible for ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and ready for new tenants.

No two properties are the same, offering a diverse range of work including inspections, testing, fault finding, repairs, upgrades, and installations.
