Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Electrician for social housing repairs across occupied and void properties. The role involves diagnosing faults, completing EICRs, wiring upgrades, and maintaining safety standards.

You will work within a busy repairs team, delivering responsive and planned works with excellent customer service, while managing workloads and ensuring regulatory compliance in tenants’ homes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Testing and Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent preferred).
• Experience conducting EICRs and remedial works.
• Must possess own basic trade tools.
• Full clean UK driving license.
• Clean DBS check.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive electrical repairs and maintenance within social housing properties.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Complete electrical testing and inspections.
• Carry out EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports).
• Install, repair, and replace consumer units.
• Install and maintain lighting circuits, sockets, switches, and accessories.
• Complete rewires and electrical upgrades where required.
• Install and repair extractor fans and ventilation systems.
• Undertake planned maintenance and refurbishment works.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with current regulations and health & safety standards.
• Accurately complete certification, reports, and job records.
• Provide excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes.
• Work independently whilst managing workloads and appointments effectively.

Are you an experienced Electrician looking for a secure, long-term opportunity within the social housing sector? • Proven experience as an Electrician within repairs and maintenance
• Experience working within social housing is highly desirable
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• Testing and Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent preferred)
• Experience conducting EICRs and remedial works
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Must possess own basic trade tools
