Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) seeks a dedicated, fully qualified Electrician to join the facilities maintenance team at HMP Norwich. The role covers 39 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, in a demanding custodial environment requiring reliable electrical skills.

Applicants must hold BS7671:2018, Level 3 Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services, and have at least two years of qualified electrician experience with commercial/industrial systems and strong safety knowledge.

• certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S).
• Two years' experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Salary: £4106.25 plus £1000 in RRA and 5% shift allowance in recognition of weekend working

Contract: Full Time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Norwich, a category B Adult Male prison

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for an Electrician with a combination of:

• certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
• Two years' experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician

Future plans.

GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
