Job summary

Moxie People is seeking an experienced electrician to join a long-term in-house repairs team in south-east Wales. You will perform electrical repairs, testing, installations and upgrades in occupied and empty properties, with the option to use your carpentry/plumbing/plastering skills on wider maintenance jobs.

A supportive team and long‑term stability are on offer. The role requires NVQ Level 3, AM2 and 18th Edition, plus experience in domestic settings.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, AM2 and 18th Edition are required.
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (2391/2394/2395) is preferred.
  • Strong electrical maintenance and installation experience.
  • Confident in testing, certification and fault-finding.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing and plastering skills are advantageous.
  • Experience working in domestic properties is essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out electrical repairs, fault-finding and new circuit installs.
  • Completing full and part rewires in various containment systems (conduit, trunking).
  • Testing and certifying electrical works (EICRs, minor works, fire and emergency lighting).
  • Maintaining and repairing heating systems, controls and door entry systems.
  • Cyclical testing of emergency lighting and fire alarms.
  • Working safely and respectfully in tenants’ homes.
  • Logging jobs with a handheld device and keeping records up to date.
  • Keeping the van stocked to finish jobs first time.
  • Supporting apprentices and junior staff when needed.

About the role

You'll be carrying out electrical repairs, testing, installations and upgrades across occupied and empty properties. The work is varied, steady, and you'll have the support of a proper team behind you.

You'll also use your additional trade skills (carpentry/plumbing/plastering) to help complete wider maintenance jobs when needed.

Day‑to‑day, you'll be:
  • Carrying out electrical repairs, fault‑finding and new circuit installs
  • Completing full and part rewires in various containment systems (conduit, trunking etc)
  • Testing and certifying electrical works (EICRs, minor works, fire alarms, smoke alarms, emergency lighting)
  • Maintaining and repairing heating systems, controls and door entry systems
  • Completing cyclical testing of emergency lighting and fire alarms
  • Working safely and respectfully in tenants' homes
  • Using a handheld device to log jobs and keep records up to date
  • Keeping your van stocked so you can finish jobs first time
  • Supporting apprentices and junior staff when needed

What you need
