Salary £38,745 pa + On Call Payments (approx. £4000)

Location Manchester - Across Greater Manchester - Starting work at first appointment and finishing after the last appointment

This role will help us to do this by providing a professional electrical service that delivers an excellent customer experience and adheres to the current edition of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, health and safety regulations, and organisational policies and procedures.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Carry out all aspects of electrical works in customers’ homes and empty properties.
  2. Repair/replace electrical fittings and diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
  3. Complete relevant certification to BS: 7671 to include EICR, Minor Works and Installation certificates.
  4. Deliver an excellent customer experience by understanding the different needs of our customers and tailoring your approach. Be easy to deal with and do what you say you will.
  5. Report any potential repairs and safeguarding issues that you notice in the customers’ homes.
  6. Update your PDA in real time on a job’s status and communicate with planners if customers are not at home or jobs are not viable.

We need people who have:

  1. City and Guilds Parts I, II & III or NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation works.
  2. City and Guilds 2391 or 2394 and 2395.
  3. Current BS:7671 qualification (18th Edition Regulations).
  4. Experience in a similar role and in certifying electrical works.
  5. Experience in Testing and inspection of domestic dwellings.
  6. Sound building, construction, General maintenance / repair knowledge.
  7. Experience in working with IT systems (email, word and excel).
  8. Full valid driving licence.

Please note this role is subject to a basic DBS check.

The team

Our Homes Team make sure customers' homes are well maintained by carrying out repairs, maintenance, and gas servicing. They are very important people!

In the team, there are multi-trades people, electricians, ground workers, roofers, gas engineers, plumbers, and joiners, plus general labourers and apprentices. There is also a team of planners and administrative colleagues who keep the show on the road by booking in all the work and making sure our trades colleagues have everything they need to get the job done. Together the Homes Team makes up nearly a third of our whole workforce!

Our customer satisfaction rating is consistently rated as ‘excellent’ and our Homes Team gets more compliments than any other team! The Homes Team were winners of the One Team One Dream Award at our colleague awards in 2020 for their commitment and fantastic teamwork.

Every year we...

Spend around £7 million repairing and maintaining our customers’ homes.

Carry out 20,000 repairs.

Complete 5,500 gas services.

Turnaround 350 empty homes so they are in a good condition to re-let.
