Fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotland’s North West Electrical team as an Electrician based in Perth, Inverness, or Kingussie (full time).

About the North West Trunk Road Unit

The unit spans approximately 1,422 km of trunk roads through some of the most scenic parts of Scotland. It includes 1,501 bridges and structures, such as the Kessock Bridge on the A9 north of Inverness and the A87 Skye Crossing.

The area covered ranges from Thurso and Wick in the Highlands to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, and from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling in the central belt.

Role includes:

1. Conducting regular inspections and electrical maintenance on North West Trunk Road facilities.
2. Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults efficiently to minimise disruptions.
3. Implementing electrical system upgrades and enhancements.
4. Collaborating with a team of skilled professionals to ensure safe operation of infrastructure.
5. Adhering to safety standards and regulations to ensure safety of the public and team.
6. Providing technical expertise and recommendations for improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

1. Full approval as an Electrician, with relevant certifications and licenses.
2. Experience of at least 4 years in electrical maintenance and repair.
3. Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practices.
4. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work under demanding conditions.
5. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
6. Willingness to work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
7. A fully approved UK driving licence.
