Job summary

David Leslie Ltd is seeking an experienced Approved Electrician to join its East London engineering team. The role covers PPM, testing, fault finding and small installations across London, with a company vehicle and enhanced-rate overtime on offer.

Responsibilities

Approved Electrician | PPM & Testing | East London | £46,000-£47,000 + Vehicle + Overtime

Company Vehicle | Enhanced Overtime | Training & Development

An established Electrical & Security services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Approved Electrician to join its engineering team, working predominantly across East London and Greater London.

The business holds a number of long-term electrical and security service contracts and provides planned preventative maintenance, testing, reactive works and smaller electrical installations across a varied client base.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing contractor where engineers are trusted to work independently while remaining part of an experienced wider team. The company places strong emphasis on training, professional standards and supporting people to continue developing their technical capabilities over the longer term.

The successful candidate will enjoy a varied workload, established client contracts, a company vehicle and the opportunity to increase earnings through enhanced-rate overtime, nights, weekends and call-outs.

The Opportunity

As Approved Electrician, you will work across planned and reactive electrical maintenance contracts, carrying out testing, inspection, remedial works and smaller electrical installations.

Your role will include:

Carrying out PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding
Completing EICRs, testing and associated remedial works
Undertaking small electrical installations and general repairs
Emergency lighting testing, repairs and maintenance
Completing electrical certification, job sheets and supporting documentation accurately
Participating in a shared call-out rota and occasional enhanced-rate night or weekend work

The role offers a good balance of independent working and involvement with other engineers and apprentices, while supporting a varied portfolio of established contracts.

About You

We are looking for a reliable and experienced electrician with a strong background across commercial electrical installation, maintenance, testing and inspection.

You should have:

At least five years' relevant electrical installation or maintenance experience
NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification through an apprenticeship or equivalent route
18th Edition qualification including current amendments
2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent
Current ECS card and full UK driving licence
Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations, testing, fault finding and certification

Previous PPM experience or experience within critical or sensitive environments would be particularly advantageous. EV Charging Installer accreditation would also be beneficial but is not essential.
